Hoppy Mozzarella Sticks

12 mozzarella sticks Vegetable oil for frying
1 cup beer (preferably a light beer such as lager) Marinara sauce for serving (optional)
2 cup Hop Barons Fish Fry


1. Cut the mozzarella sticks in half so you have 24 shorter sticks.

2. In a shallow dish add one cup of Hop Barons Fish Fry

3. Slowly pour in the beer while stirring until a smooth batter forms.

4. In another shallow dish, add the remaining cup of Hop Barons Fish Fry.

5. Coat each mozzarella stick in the beer batter, making sure to coat evenly.

6. Roll each batter-coated stick in the Hop Barons Fish Fry, making sure to coat evenly.

7. Repeat the process with all the sticks, placing them on a plate in a single layer.

8. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F.

9. Carefully place the coated mozzarella sticks in the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry for 2-3 minutes, until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

10. Using a slotted spoon, remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

11. Serve the hot mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
