Preparation
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it's browned and cooked through. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks to ensure it's crumbled evenly.
Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess grease from the skillet.
Return the skillet to the heat and add the packet of Hop Barons Chili & Taco seasoning along with 1/2 cup of water. Stir well to combine the seasoning with the beef. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
While the beef mixture is simmering, warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet or in the microwave according to the package instructions.
Assemble the burritos: Lay a warm tortilla on a flat surface. Spoon some cooked rice onto the center of the tortilla, followed by a layer of the seasoned beef mixture.
Add black beans, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, diced onions, and chopped cilantro on top of the beef.
If desired, add any optional toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, salsa, shredded lettuce, or sliced jalapeños.
Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to form a burrito.
Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling ingredients.
Serve the beef burritos immediately, or wrap them individually in foil and keep them warm in a low oven until ready to serve.
